FAQ
Short answers on fees, timing, limits, refunds, stored data and regulatory status.
Basics
Tacet is a private cross-chain swap router. Your swap runs through two independent liquidity venues with a privacy-preserving settlement layer in between, so no single venue sees both the wallet you send from and the wallet you receive in.
A standard swap goes through one venue that records both your source and destination. With private routing, each venue sees only one end, and the settlement between them hides sender, receiver and amount — breaking the direct on-chain path between your wallets.
No. Connect a wallet if you like, or just paste addresses. Each swap gets an order ID — anyone with it can view the order's status, so keep it to yourself.
Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), USD Coin (USDC on Ethereum), Tether (USDT on Tron), BNB, XRP, Litecoin (LTC), TRON (TRX), Dogecoin (DOGE), Tether (USDT on Ethereum), Avalanche (AVAX), Chainlink (LINK on Ethereum), Cardano (ADA). Swap any of them to any other, send the same token privately to another wallet, or split one deposit across up to five recipients.
Not yet. Tacet currently runs on testnet with simulated liquidity, so you can try the full flow without real funds. Testnet deposit addresses aren't valid on any real chain.
Fees, limits & timing
A 1% protocol fee, plus what the route costs: spreads and trading fees on both legs, settlement network fees and the payout network fee. The quote shows every line in US dollars before you confirm.
With a floating rate, no: trades execute at market, so you can receive more or less than the estimate. With a fixed rate, yes: for a 1% guarantee fee you receive exactly the quoted amount, as long as you send exactly the quoted amount within 10 minutes. Fixed rate is offered when Express liquidity can cover the order; with several recipients, each one's amount is guaranteed.
Each order must be worth at least $50 and at most $10,000. The swap form shows the exact limits in your token at current prices.
Usually 1 to 2 hours with Express: once settlement confirms, the payout comes from pre-funded liquidity. Source-chain confirmations and venue processing make up the rest. When Express liquidity can't cover an order, the quote shows a longer estimate.
10 minutes from order creation. Later deposits aren't swapped — they're refunded to your refund address.
Refunds & reviews
If a swap can't complete, your deposit is returned in the original token to your refund address. Refunds are automatic while funds are still at the first venue. If funds were already converted, they're converted back first, so the refund reflects that trade.
If the swap stops before conversion, the full deposit is returned minus the network withdrawal fee. If it stops after conversion, the protocol fee has already applied and funds are converted back at market, so the refund reflects the fee and the spread.
When funds are mid-route, an automatic refund could mean paying spreads twice or sending funds twice. In those cases the order is held for our team, who either completes or refunds it. Held orders stay visible on the tracking page.
Send only the token and network shown on the order page. Funds sent on another network or in another token may not be recoverable. For XRP, include the destination tag shown.
The swap proceeds with what actually arrives, and your output adjusts. It still needs to fall within the order limits. On a fixed-rate order, a different amount switches the order to the floating rate.
Data & compliance
Per order: token pair and amounts, the deposit address we generated, your destination and refund addresses, transaction IDs, timestamps and an operational log. No name, email or account details.
30 days after an order completes, its addresses, destination tags and transaction IDs are deleted automatically — or immediately, if you choose "Delete order data". Order ID, token pair, amounts, timestamps and status remain for accounting. Orders under review are kept until resolved. Our audit log stores addresses only as one-way keyed hashes.
The first liquidity venue sees your deposit; the second sees your payout address. Venues run their own compliance checks. Our hosting may log IP addresses. We don't use analytics or tracking cookies. Recent order IDs are stored only in your browser.
Tacet is a new service. It isn't currently licensed or registered as a virtual asset service provider in any jurisdiction. Every address is screened against public sanctions lists, and venues apply their own compliance controls and can delay or freeze funds. We'll publish our regulatory status before handling real funds. You're responsible for the laws that apply to you.
