Privacy, by routing

On transparent chains, every transfer is public. When one venue handles both sides of a swap, it holds a single record linking your source and destination wallets. Tacet splits that record across independent liquidity venues and settles privately in between.

In one line: The first venue sees where funds come from. The second sees where they go. Neither sees both — and the settlement in between is private.

The route

Venue A sees: your source wallet and deposit

Private: sender, receiver and amount hidden

Venue B sees: your destination and payout

  1. 01

You deposit to a one-time address at the first liquidity venue. It sees your source wallet.

  2. 02

Your funds are converted and moved through a privacy-preserving settlement layer that hides sender, receiver and amount, with 10 confirmations before they continue.

  3. 03

A second, independent venue receives the settlement at a fresh address, converts to your token and pays out. It never sees your source wallet.

Limits

Private routing gives you reasonable privacy, not invisibility. Here's what it doesn't do.
Deposits and payouts are public.
Your deposit and your payout happen on transparent chains. Anyone can see that your source wallet sent funds to a venue and that your destination received from one.
Timing and amounts can be correlated.
If 0.01 BTC goes in and roughly 0.3 ETH comes out later, an analyst watching both chains may connect them — especially at low volume. Faster settlement shortens that gap. The random-delay route and amounts that don't stand out help.
Venues run compliance checks.
Liquidity venues screen funds with on-chain analytics. Funds flagged as risky can be delayed, questioned or frozen. That's outside our control.
Tacet sees both ends.
To process and refund orders, we store deposit, destination and refund addresses, amounts, transaction IDs and an operational log — deleted 30 days after completion. You need to trust the operator.
Network metadata exists.
This site, our hosting and the venues can see IP addresses and timing. Use a network you trust.
Laws still apply.
Privacy is not a way around tax or anti-money-laundering rules in your jurisdiction.

What privacy costs

  • Two legs of spreads and trading fees instead of one.
  • More time than a standard swap — about 1–2 hours with Express liquidity, several hours without it.
  • More parties in the route means more points that can delay or hold funds. When that happens, we hold rather than guess.
